Update: Looking for the lyrics to This Is My Now? That's the original they sang for the final number this year, the one that won the songwriting contest.
How cool is it that they're using a Chris Daughtry
 song as the exit song this year? It's called "Home", although I'm sure people are going to come looking for it as "Be careful what you wish for" or "I'm going home". (The show picks it up in the middle, right at "I'm going home to the place where I belong...")
I actually have this CD, it's very good. I'm happier with it than I was with Bo Bice's effort.
UPDATE 5/8/2007: People are debating the lyrics in the comments, so I dug up the liner notes that come with the CD. There are as official as you're gonna get! Apparently the lyric sheet does not include every single "So" and "Well" and "Yeah", so I'm leaving those in. And vettegirl was right, it is "remains true".

I watched American Idol on ITV2 tonight. I heard the song Home and thought that it sounded just like Chris Daughtry, had to google to find out if it was true. Fab, Fab and more Fab, he may have not won Idol and he won our hearts.

Oh my goodness. I finally found the song.When I heard it this Wednesday...I was saying I must download the song. I go online today and I kept looking for the lyrics but they kept coming up with different songs. I gave up. Then I found it! I love this song. It has true meaning to it. But yes it is weird they are using his song as there exit song. You can tell they miss him. Also you can tell they are happy for him. Happy that even though he didn't win A.I he still got a record contract. And is blowing up. Thats a one in a million chance.

Thanks for the update (and for being so nice about it :-/). I probably should have checked the CD, but it's down in my wife's car and given that this post has been up for 3 months with no complaints it didn't seem to be that big of a deal to anybody else.

I absolutely love this song (it reminds me of my boyfriend-he's going to college in another town far away from mine), but I noticed on the lyrics posted above that one line is wrong. It's not "but your love, it makes true"; it's "but your love remains true". And it seems like every lyrics site I've visited has posted that same wrong line.

This song is wonderful and amazing and your voice is amazing too, I really really love it because I can relate to that song 100 % with my boyfriend... And yes, I admide it, I have not always been the best girl and friend to my boyfriend but I love him so much and there are things that I want to do with him but he wants something els with me and yeah, he have to be careful what he wishes because he WOULD get it all and some that he don't want too !!
But I love my boyfriend with all of my heart and that song is perfect, I would love to dedicate this song to my boyfriend.
