Week 2 of eliminations is probably the most boring. Week 1 is interesting because we guess at who will be first, and Week 3 is interesting because it's the last chance to get into the final 12. But week 2...who really cares?

Just to get it in quick - how bad did Kellie Pickler look? When she sang she looked like she was in her 40's. And did she get implants or what? Man!

Anyway. Nick and AJ for the boys. I think in both cases it's strictly a "stand out from the crowd" thing, and they didn't. It's funny this year how they are really polarizing the "It's a singing competition", "No it's not it's a whole package competition" thing. Half the girls, Antonella at the top of the list, are being told that they're getting by on their looks. But then when a better singer gets kicked off, the judges are quick to say "People, it's a singing competition, don't forget that." Make up your mind. Nigel the producer is even on record saying that Antonella is succeeding on "Her looks and her talent", and yes he said looks first.

For the girls, Alaina and Lesley. I expected Lesley to go eventually, but I think everyone was legit pissed off when she went before Antonella. I saw lots of people crying over that (does Sundance ever stop crying?) and not too many hugging our porn star.

Oh well. Next week it'll get good again. Nice to see Sundance back in form. I hope Sanjaya survives, but he's taking a beating. The girls should be a foregone conclusion - get rid of all the white girls except Gina. If Antonella knocks out a better singer it'll be a shame.
