Here we go! Transcribed as best I can, risking life and limb to hit the pause and rewind button Tivo (under threat of my wife killing me, you see...), here are the lyrics to the songwriting contest winner, This Is My Now by Scott Krippayne and Jeff Peabody! If I've made any mistakes please let me know! I'm pretty sure that Blake and Jordin sang different words in some transition parts so I'm not really sure what the "right" version is. Enjoy!

Thanks for the lyrics. For the poster who asked who sang this before, I'm pretty sure this is brand new written exclusively for American Idol although Scott Krippayne does have it out as a single as well. I heard his version on Christian radio the day after the "Idol" finale ran.

Jordin is the reason why people who can't sing for their life shouldn't even breath in the direction of the auditions. She is so humble which makes her even more talented because she does not flaunt what she has more than anyone else. My dad and I were having this argument about how people should get what they want if they "believe" they can, and if the "try". You have to have at least some talent to get you through, just like Jordin did. She really deserves it.

I really love this song, I just can't stop listen it. This is a great inspiration song for me. I've been depressed for so long and have to do just like the song says: Let "my fears behind me, gone on the shadows in doubt, that was then" and live my now. It's breathing. If you listen closely you can hear a "r" sound. As for the "missing" verse that everyone was talking about American Idol seems to cut a lot of songs short because of time restraints, but the recorded version does have it, so everyone is right.

People who liked Blake better just because he's cute and hot are morons! I know that he was the best "performer" but that has a totally different meaning from best "singer". This is why America is spending more time voting on the next American Idol than the next American President! It has become a popularity/looks comparison. Anyway, aside from the people who truly deserve their big break and have talent, there are people who don't even belong on this show. They just put them there to satisfy the obese American population. Jordin and Blake really worked hard towards their goals, which I understand. But this is a singing competition not"who can make america drool the most".
